Every Night, Her Daughter Says… “God Loves You!”
Tamisha was doing well. She had a good job as a corrections officer and was able to pay her bills and support herself and her daughter, Tyaunna.
But then, an incident in her past came to light – she had been receiving food stamps and failed to report that she had started a new job. “[The officials at the prison] couldn’t believe it,” says Tamisha. “They didn’t want me to leave… they held my job for a month while I was going back and forth to court.”
Eventually, Tamisha was given probation and had to give up her corrections job.
